Drought Project
The FSEQ210021 project “Past and present impacts of megadroughts in high Andean lakes of northern and central Chile” aims to understand the ecological and hydrological impact of the megadrought that has affected Andean lakes in Chile over the past decade. This video describes the project, its landscapes, results, and researchers, including Claudio Latorre and Magdalena Fuentealba from the IEB among its members
PaleoLINCGlobal Project
The Paleo-LINCGlobal consortium was established with the INCGLO0029 project funded by the CSIC in the 2021 call.
The study focuses on key South American eco-regions, such as coastal areas, the Andes, deserts, the Amazon, Patagonia, and Antarctica. It monitors current processes and reconstructs past dynamics, with lakes serving as indicators of environmental and climate changes. Collaboration across scientific disciplines is crucial for addressing complex issues like human impact on ecosystems.

HOLOCHILL Project
The HOLOCHILL project represented a unique opportunity to advance the understanding of climate changes during the Holocene in Mediterranean and semi-arid regions, inferred from lacustrine sedimentary records in both Spain and Chile, and to understand interhemispheric climate teleconnections.
